Certified Rape Crisis
Counselor/Advocate Training
Rape Crisis of the Southern Tier is looking
for reliable volunteers. Our 24 hour hotline is staffed by
trained volunteers. Rape Crisis of the Southern Tier
provides these volunteers with the required NYS Department of
Health training for certification as Rape Crisis
Counselors/Advocates. Once certified, the volunteers provide
phone counseling to victims of sexual violence and accompany
rape victims to area hospitals and/or police stations.
This 30 hour training is offered twice a year to volunteers. If
you are interested, complete the volunteer application and mail
or fax it to:

school and college students
- Internships for college students
- Staff community education table
display at health fairs and community events
- Assist with clerical work
- Serve on a committee for a special
Rape Crisis awareness or fundraising event
- Help gather and prepare materials for
rape prevention education programs to children, youth, and
adults.
- Maintain Lending Library materials,
sorting and follow up.
